Just Say No

By Christy Uffelman

I was just saying to a friend the other day that I want to start a “Just Say NO Club” where we get together once/month and talk about all the things we said NO to.

There are so many things that “could be fun” or “would likely be good to do” or I feel like I “should do to help someone else”… you know, the “kinda cool” stuff.

And then I wonder how my life gets so filled that I don’t have time to do the things I WANT to do. Because the reality is, there is no such thing as “not enough time.”

It’s all about priorities.

We make choices all the time, we just don’t realize, in that moment, that by choosing to say “yes” to someone/something, we are, by default, saying “no” to something else. (In my case, I’m likely saying it to ME – MY workout, MY 5 quiet minutes with a cup of tea, MY nap.)

My invitation for you is to begin to filter your choices through this question: “Is this a HELL YEAH?” And if not, can I give myself permission to say “No.”?
