At EDGE Leadership, we believe who you are is how you lead.

We grow the person to grow the leader so that in moments of fear, uncertainty, and transition, you have the grounding and self-trust to reinvent with confidence.

EDGE was built on the belief that leadership is not about titles. We work with people at every level because self-leadership is the foundation for navigating change, transition, uncertainty, and fear. Leadership is not a role. It is a way of being, and everyone is invited into that work. When individuals grow from the inside out, entire teams and cultures grow with them.

Our manifesto is simple:

  • Grow the person
  • Create meaningful connections
  • Curate belonging
  • Challenge the status quo
  • Build courageous humans

How We Coach: The EDGE Approach

We turn leadership development inside out through three principles that grow people from within and create sustainable culture change across the organization:

Lead Yourself with Courage

  • Ability to thrive in uncertainty by practicing equanimity and emotional agility.
  • Growth mindsets are built by learning to recognize self-limiting beliefs, shift self-sabotaging patterns, and befriend the Inner Critic rather than be ruled by it.
  • Vulnerability feels like fear but looks like courage—and it’s the birthplace of innovation, connection and collaboration.
  • Self-trust builds resilience in the face of uncertainty. It gives people the grounding to feel fear and still take the next courageous step.
  • We create brave spaces for leaders to practice vulnerability and empathy so they can show up with courage -at work and at home.  Because WHO we are is HOW we lead.

Intentional Knowledge Transfer, Third Places, and Psychological Safety

We believe in the wisdom already inside your organization.

Horizontal transfer → peers share lessons, successes, and challenges to build an actionable network of support and insight.

Vertical transfer → senior leaders mentor across levels, creating organic advocacy and passing on best practices.

Psychological safety → participants learn to create safety in their own minds first, then model it for their teams, departments, and families. Experiencing true safety in community shows people how to build it in their own spaces and cultures.

Christy Uffelman, Founder & CEO

Christy is a nationally recognized leadership coach, TEDx speaker, and one of the first 50 coaches personally selected to learn from Brené Brown.  She founded EDGE to bring her belief—that personal evolution drives business evolution—to leaders everywhere.

Our Story

EDGE Leadership was founded on a simple belief: we grow the person to grow the leader.

Christy Uffelman began experimenting with group coaching in 2007 and quickly saw that what leaders thought were individual struggles were actually shared challenges. All they needed was a psychologically safe space to be vulnerable and learn from one another. During this time, Christy was mentored by Brené Brown, whose insight that vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation became a cornerstone of EDGE’s work.

In 2013, Christy and her husband Kevin launched EDGE Leadership and trademarked PEER Technology®, a platform designed to make peer-to-peer and vertical knowledge transfer intentional. Since then, EDGE has partnered with organizations across the country to build cultures of belonging, resilience, and self-leadership at every level.
